RunAway France

As with our UK programme Run Away short break holidays offer an enjoyable training environment in which to explore new and beautiful countryside with experienced guides and coaches.

We also aim to capture the special flavours that make France so unique whether through its cuisine, wine or history.

Our Hotels

Our hotels have been selected because they offer good quality, home cooked regional food, comfortable rooms (either double or twin) with tea/coffee making facilites and either bath or shower ensuite, and are well located. In addtion, to providing immediate access to glorious countryside - and some great runs - they all provide excellent starting points for local walks, and for partners in search of a relaxing weekend, opportunities for taking it easy.

Medical certificate details

All entrants for road races in France are required to provide a medical certificate, signed by their doctor, to confirm that there are no complications why the runner should no compete in the race.

Annecy Marathon and Half Marathon
Sunday 25th April 2020
This year the race will be a week later than London and is an ideal antidote! It is everything that London isn't and is probably one of the most attractive marathon courses in Europe. Now in its 25th year, it boasts clean air, snow capped mountains, and beautiful lakeside panoramas and a flat, fast course. There is also a half marathon option run as a separate event over the first half of the course, which attracted nearly 2000 runners in 2020.

Mont-Saint-Michel Marathon
Sunday 20th June 2020
Although a fairly recent addition to the marathon calendar, and now in its 7th year, the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay Marathon has rapidly become one of the predominant marathons in France, ranked second behind Paris as the fastest marathon in the country. With a field of some 6000 entries the race is the 3rd largest in France. Following the coast along the Mont-St-Michel Bay through polders reclaimed from the sea in the 19th century it must be the only marathon where the runners can see the finish from the start and watch it get closer mile by mile throughout the race.
