Mont-Saint-Michel Marathon

Although a fairly recent addition to the marathon calendar, and now in its 7th year, the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay Marathon has rapidly become one of the predominant marathons in France, ranked second behind Paris as the fastest marathon in the country.

With a field of some 6000 entries the race is the 3rd largest in France. Following the coast along the Mont-St-Michel Bay through polders reclaimed from the sea in the 19th century it must be the only marathon where the runners can see the finish from the start and watch it get closer mile by mile throughout the race.

The Location

This port in the north of Brittany has a citadel and ancient streets heaving with boutiques, bars and restaurants. It also boasts splendid Atlantic vistas, marinas, beaches and scrumptious seafood. Brittany, situated between the Atlantic ocean and the English Channel is one of the most popular of all the French regions. The unspoilt beaches, rocky coves, soaring cliffs and offshore islands provide some stunning and incomparable seascapes.

The Hotel

The Grand Hotel d'Univers is a recently refurbished **star hotel situated in the heart of the old town, in front of the castle and inside the city walls. All rooms are en suite with TV and telephones.

Travel

Prices are based on Ryanair services from Stansted on Friday 18th June departing at 10.55 and arriving in Dinard at 13.00 and returning on Monday 21st June at 13.25. As Ryanair operate a flexible pricing system, the prices shown are a guide and may vary up or down at the time of booking. Brittany Ferries provide a daily service from Portsmouth to St Malo departing at 07.00 and arriving in St Malo at 17.00. Alternative prices are available on request. There is a regular bus service between St Malo and Dinard airport. Taxi transfers cost approximately £13. A 2 night option is available.
