How fit do I need to be?

Our programmes aim to suit runners of all abilities, however, if necessary, we may divide participants into groups based on their ability and experience. To get the best from our running breaks, you should be physically fit and able to run 5 miles, at any pace, at least twice a week.

What's included in the package?

This varies slightly location by location and for full details you should consult our brochure. In general terms, accommodation is on a half board basis with tea, coffee and biscuits provided during the introduction to the weekend. All our runs will be fully guided and there will be opportunities to discuss training issues with our qualified staff. Transport to and from races is also included in the price.

Are all the runs guided?

All RunAway Tours runs are guided by experienced runners who are familiar with all the local runs. If necessary groups will be split into groups based on ability and experience.

Am I guaranteed a race entry?

Provided you include the appropriate entry fees when booking, you will be guaranteed a race entry. Run Away Tours have negotiated guaranteed entries for all the races featured in our brochure.

Do you only take running club members on your trips?

No. Our trips are open to everybody - whether you a club member or not - or whether you are making an individual or group booking. The only difference is that non affiliated runners will have to pay a small supplement (normally £1-£2) for their race entry fees.

Can I bring my partner with me?

Our staff will always be on hand to provide advice on the various alternative options in each location. Normall these options will include local walking information, bike hire, driving itineraries, leisure facilities, tourist attractions and updated weather forecasts.

Why do I need a medical certificate when racing in France?

Since 2001, participation in sporting events organised by sports federations or under their auspices has been subject to the possession of a sports licence attesting that a medical certificate has been issued confirming the absence of contraindications for participation in sports competitions. In the absence of a licence competitors have to produce a certificate, confirming their fitness to compete, signed by a doctor and dated within the previous 12 months. Without this certificate you will not be allowed to compete in France.
