Marathon day in Reims boasts a true festival of running with over 10,000 entrants taking part in the 4 events that are held on the day. Pride of place goes to Le Marathon de Reims. Last year the race ranked as the 2nd fastest in France behind Paris and a sub 3 hour time will be necessary to guarantee a place in the top 200. |
Reims has been an important strategic crossroads for many centuries. It is one hour's journey from Paris, two and a half hours travel from Calais and only 50 minutes travel to Eurodisney. The greatest difficulty over the weekend will be how to combine a visit to one of the major Champagne Houses, sample the fantastic local cuisine and still run a marathon. We think we have found a way to do all three.

We will be staying at the Hotel Bristol which is quietly and centrally located on the pedestrianised Place Drouet d'Erlon. The hotel which has recently been refurbished dates back to the 19th century and offers en suite, comfortable, traditionally decorated rooms all with TV and telephones.
Prices are based on Ryanair services from Stansted on Friday 22nd departing at 15.50 and arriving in Reims at 17.50 and returning on Monday 25th October at 18.20pm.
